Trusting the Hands That Hold the Plan - Edition 53
Faith Forward (Weekly Newsletter)
Have you ever found yourself asking, “God, what are You doing?”
We pray for clarity and get silence.
We ask for direction and get detours.
We hope for comfort and face challenge instead.
Scripture reminds us that God’s plan is not always easy to understand, but it is always good. As the Lord declares in Book of Isaiah 55:8–9, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways.”
Faith is not about having all the answers. It’s about trusting the One who does.
God Sees the Bigger Story
We live moment by moment. God sees beginning to end.
What feels like a delay may be divine protection.
What feels like a setback may be sacred preparation.
Throughout Scripture, we see this truth unfold. Joseph endured betrayal and prison before stepping into purpose. The disciples faced confusion before clarity. Even when the path looked uncertain, God was weaving something greater than they could imagine.
We may not understand the chapter we’re in, but God is writing the whole story.
Trust Grows in the Waiting
Understanding often comes later. Trust is built in the present moment.
Faith matures when we choose to trust without full explanation. It deepens when we surrender outcomes and cling to God’s character instead of our comfort.
Book of Proverbs 3:5 reminds us: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
We don’t lean on what we see.
We lean on who He is.
God’s plan may stretch us, but it will never abandon us.
Reflection Questions
Where in your life are you struggling to understand what God is doing?
What would it look like to trust God’s character even without clear answers?
Closing Prayer
Father. We confess that we often want clarity more than we want trust. When Your plans feel confusing or painful, help us remember that You see what we cannot. Strengthen our faith in the waiting. Teach us to trust Your heart when we cannot trace Your hand. Anchor us in Your promises and give us peace in the unknown. We place our unanswered questions in Your faithful hands. Amen.
